Tamilnadu badminton association was formed approximately in 1960,s by Shri.Baldev Ji& Shri.Vinod Sharma, the association was active for the couple of years then went into silence for the couple of years.

Then in the early 70's Mr.Selvaraj revived the association and held many tournaments in the corporation stadium. Remember those days that Mr.Prakesh Pudkone won the 1st Senior and Junior National in Chennai for the first time beating Mr.Suresh Gayal in senior and Mr.Divender Ahuja in Junior.

In 80's Shri.Vivek Goinka headed the association and this was the goldern period of T.N.B.A. He produced great National Players like Mr.Partho ganguli, Mr.Chengeppa,the brothers Mickel and Edvin Srinivasan, in the ladies the sisiters Poornima Rao & Radha Rao and Usha Balamore brought great Laurels to Tamil Nadu. As Shri.Vivek wanted to move to Mumbai the association was handed over to Shri.Ashok Bajaj, I have brought Badminton in every district and I glad to inform you that, all the district are active in Tamilnadu, we also bought many coaches and many Umpires into Tamilnadu and held all major Nationals and International Tournament in Tamilnadu in all the districts.

We also have introduced inter School Competition to search for the talents at school levels; we have produced players who play for the country.

Tamil Nadu Badminton Association is affiliated with the Badminton Association of India; all other activities are on our website.
